How to Clean Your Items

Hey y’all, Summer here!

I want to open up a conversation about alternative ways we suggest cleaning your items! Depending on the type of cleanse you’d like to do will depend on the method. Personally, for pre-loved or second-hand items, I like a gentle clean. This way, positive energy from its previous owners still sticks around, while any bad mojo will float away.

Cleaning new items that enter your home is important… after all, it is your sacred space! Whatever intentions you have for the item you should make known, and cleaning your new purchases prompts them to give back that good energy to you while you use them!

Complete Clean

If you are interested in a complete energy cleanse of your items, my first recommendation would be to rewash the clothing you receive. This will get rid of all vibes that may remain on your item.

Secondly, consider using sage on your new pre-loved purchase. Sage (when sourced ethically, do your research!) when burned attacks all energy and dissipates it. A good way to know when your item is cleansed is waiting until the dark smoke coming from the sage turns white or light grey. Usually when the smoke lightens it’s work is done and you can stop cleaning.

Gentle Clean

A great perk to gentle cleaning is that the story of your item lives on! This is my favorite way to clean new items because buying second-hand to me means continuing the items journey.

Incense

Burn incense to give a gentle clean to new items. After lighting, simply hold your item around the smoke coming from the ember. The scent of the incense can be that of your choosing, however I prefer a gentle lavender or frankincense.

Sunlight

Placing your newly purchased item in direct sunlight for a while is a great way to give it tons of positive energy! Exposure to all of the vitamin D and literal LIGHT is just the perfect way to clear away bad vibes. Leave your items there until your instinct tells you to remove them–trust me, you’ll know!

Crystals

Surrounding your items with cleansing crystals, or stones that contain healing/positive energy is a must (I keep several crystals in my closet to keep the space clean)! Selenite is a great crystal that helps draw away any bad energy still attached to items. Citrine or rose quartz might be good options for you too!

With each item being intentionally selected, stored, packaged, and shipped, they only deserve to be treated the same way into the next chapter of their journey! Through each step of the cleansing process you decide to take your new items on, remember to radiate positive energy and light. Set your intentions for good, and never be in a bad mood

when cleaning items–this could put negative energy into your home.

I hope you enjoyed a little peek inside how we like to treat and maintain the items we send your way, and that you’ve learned something new! I think it’s only appropriate to say… #GoodVibesOnly

Thanks for reading, y’all!
